How it works

Cameras on streetlight poles read the rear plate of anyone going 11 mph or more over the limit. Tickets get mailed to the registered owner.

Warnings first

Every camera starts with a 60-day warning period. After that, fines start at $50. They're civil tickets, like parking tickets, with no points on your license.

How to avoid them

Easy: stay under 11 over. Or check your commute and pick a route that skips them. We won't judge. Much.

Don't let your friends get flashed

Send this to the friend who drives like they're late for a Dodgers game.
